Who is eligible for MACS?
Our services are highly specialised to ensure we deliver the best possible care. To be eligible for our services, you must:
- Have a physical disability.
- Be aged between 18 and 65 at the time of joining.
- Live within our service catchment areas.
- Be able to directly instruct our staff on your assistance needs.
- Have active funding, such as an NDIS plan, or the capacity to pay privately for your services.
What areas do we service?
While our main office operates as a registered NDIS provider in Kedron, our mobile support workers travel extensively to deliver attendant care services Brisbane-wide and beyond. Our core drop-in catchment areas specifically include North Brisbane and South Brisbane.
How does the pricing actually work?
A major advantage of MACS support is our transparent, value-driven pricing model. Unlike traditional providers that run on costly two-hour minimums, we only bill you for the actual time you are assisted.
Our minimum shift time is just 15 minutes. For every drop-in visit, we charge for the time spent providing support, plus a standard flat fee of 30 minutes to cover travel time. For example, if you need 15 minutes of help getting ready for bed, you are only billed for 45 minutes total (15 minutes of support plus 30 minutes of travel). This structure stops fund wastage and stretches your budget much further.
What is the difference between pre-booked and unplanned support?
We offer two main ways to use our drop in support services:
- Pre-booked Support: This is for your regular, daily routines. You schedule a specific time for a worker to drop in and assist with personal care, meals or household tasks.
- Unplanned (Call-in) Support: This is for urgent, time-sensitive needs that arise unexpectedly, available from 6 pm to 6 am. If you drop something, need help repositioning, or require assistance late at night, you simply call our shift phone and a mobile worker will be dispatched to your home.
Will I always have the same support worker?
We understand that consistency is important for your comfort. For your regular, pre-booked shifts, we use a buddy shift system where new workers complete three shifts alongside senior staff to learn your specific routine. We aim to provide familiar faces for your scheduled care.
However, the nature of our fast-response call-in support means that the closest available mobile worker will attend to your unplanned needs. This means you may occasionally be assisted by a fully trained staff member you have not met before, ensuring you get help as quickly as possible without waiting.
